Mr.Savik
I saw this band in 1973or '74 supporting Alvin Stardust, somewhere in London. I have a recollection that some members actually were in Alvin's backing band. It's a great LP, I still have mine with the best cover ever. Have kept it even after so many other LPs went bye byes.

This band started life as -: Lady jane & Royaltee then Royalty before becoming Fable. The early vocalist was Anna Teranna with whom the band recorded two singles and 1 album in 1970/1971 on the Penny Farthing Label.Sadly as yet noboby knows what happened to the album.Any help finding the album, for which we have no title, would be welcome.

According to Vernon Joynson's "The Tapestry of Delights" a Fable album on Magnet records was recorded in August 1973 but not released until 1974. It is the only Fable album listed in "The Tapestry of Delights" along with the two Penny Farthing and three Magnet singles... Also, the booklet notes for the "Piccadilly Sunshine Part Twelve" CD release that features "She Said Yes" from their debut Penny Farthing single states that after two single releases for Penny Farthing, " the band were signed to Magnet with further singles and their only LP". However, the Lady Jane and The Royaltee entry on the Brumbeat website states that Fable "made its official debut as an entity in 1970 and went on to make two singles and an album for the Penny Farthing label whilst performing a five month stint in Munich in the meantime." Therefore there is a discrepancy from these sources as to the existence of the Penny Farthing album.

The band were from Wolverhampton. They made 5 singles between 1970and 1975 and only 1 LP...The first single "She Said Yes" was aHoneybus cover, whilst With A Boy Like You was a cover of the oldTroggs song With A Girl Like You, but the version by Fable was sungby a girl. This again adds weight to the different group theory as theabove personnel consists of male vocalists. The album was recordedduring August 1973, but not released until 1974. Their album comprisespleasant, tight melodic rock and was recorded before Goalby and Mackiemoved onto Trapeze. Goalby eventually ended up in Uriah Heep. The besttrack is probably "Madolin" on side two...
