Holy shit, this album. A++. This is one of those rare instances where Discogs' Recommendations do a better job of selling you on something than any overwrought description could. Like Modest Mouse? Trail of Dead? Death Cab? Yo La Tengo? Built To Spill? Wilco? This sounds like Ira from Yo La Tengo fronting Modest Mouse to cover Wico's Summerteeth. Also pretty much everyone involved in this album is/was a luminary of the Chicago scene of the 'aughts. Had no idea until just now that the backing vocals come courtesy of Miss Alex White (of White Mystery) & Roby Newton (from Milemarker). The more you know!
