I LOVE Can. Can: one of the greatest bands on earth!! Still: I grievances with this album! Especially the mastering on some of the older stuff is not good. Really! Is this from a CD master or what?
Amerikan_Volga
Yes - I've got the same crackling on the B-Side ! Seems these records were pressed by GZ-Media (Europe) & this is by far not the first time that this pressing plant issues bad records.I always send these 'dogs' back, hoping that they might re-learn how to make good pressings ... .
Ionzar
Can anyone else hear weird cricket noises (the insect not the sport) in the background of LP1 both sides A and B? I fear it might be a pressing error. If so, I'm sending it back!
Felhalar
Same problem, but primary on B-side. It's not the crackling of an old analogue vinyl source, because it's audible between the tracks, too. I cleaned it professionally (Cleanaudio Double Matrix Sonic!), but no way to remove the noise. Bad pressing ... and my first record A / B got a wave.
Dordred
No beasties in mine (EU pressing)... and never heard about that kind of faulty pressing,
Brajind
I think that might be noise from the original master. it's the only track that shows any defect (if it is that) and it might have been the case that this version was the only available one for the compilation. it might be a slightly different mix to the other version too.
Nalmergas
No, its definitely there. VERY apparent during She Brings The Rain. I'm gonna email Spoon/Mute. Keep ya posted.
Moogura
Do you live in a rural area by any chance?
Cerar
Very strange, can't say I've noticed anything wrong with my copy.
Kerahuginn
Was reluctant to buy this. A 'Best of CAN'? However, it works. I'm not the biggest CAN fan there is but I do appreciate their music. So If you want a good sounding compilation of their work - this is it.Pressing quality very good, packaging is solid. Good value for money.
