This solo album from the Screaming Trees front-man shows not only his great songwriting but his brooding voice which often gets him comparisons with Jim Morrison. This album isn't as loud or distortion heavy as his Screaming Trees songs, but darker and more moody. Even though Mike Johnson and J Mascis guest on the album, their influence isn't really prevelent in that you won't hear Dino Jr type sounds going on here. This is a highly recommended album from one of the best voices and songwriters in the rock world.
