New York had CBGB, Boston had "The Rat" - one of the most infamous Rock-n-Roll nightclubs in history. It was the BirthPlace of Punk in the USA. It hosted more original bands than anyone can count, from the most famous (The Cars, The Police, Ramones, Sonic Youth) to most obscure art bands you've never heard of. But they all rocked at The Rat!
And it was more than a nightclub, it was the home to artists, musicians, writers... everyone who played a part in developing the "Boston Rock Scene" from 1974 to 1997
