An OK NWOBHM compilation; certainly no classic, and not as good as the first, but worth having anyway. Worth picking up cheaply if, for example, you don't have the White Spirit track elsewhere, which is great (as were the band, highly underrated), or if you just want to complete a collection. However, I don't know where they got the idea that this is "CUT LOUD", despite what it says on the sleeve - it's mastered at what I would call "typical 1980s compilation album levels", and definitely not "Loud"! I had to turn my recording levels up quite a lot to digitise this one.

Volume II is not as wanted as volume I. I think because vol. I has some rare recordings by Iron Maiden. On this volume II you can hear the present Iron Maiden guitarist Janick Gers in his first band White Spirit. A great collection of NWOBHM bands when it was at it's top!

Song 3 by XERO is NOT "cutting loose". It is one of their other songs "Hold On". I have the album converted from LP on my own laptop and the song listing is definitely wrong.

Incorrect - listen to the tracks on Youtube and you will see that this IS "Cutting Loose" and NOT "Hold On" - listen to the lyrics for confirmation!Unless you have a mispressed LP, of course, but there doesn't appear to be any mention of mispressings on here.
