Shakagul
An obscure English late '70s powerpop band. Produced by Deaf School drummer Tim Whittaker for Rexette Records, who released this slab of vinyl in October 1979. The A-Side leans towards late '60s freakbeat, while the B-Side, 'Two's A Crowd', is enjoyable energetic pop/rock. In 1980 The Moondogs changed their moniker to The English, to avoid confusion with another Moondogs, releasing one single for Albion Records before splitting. Dolman soon joined Lawnmover, a short-lived combo who included future Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall.
