This was the 4th single and the 1st of 3 x Dec.1963 US pressings of "Phantom Surfer" by 'The Tornadoes' (aka 'Hollywood Tornadoes') on Aertaun Records at 3840 Lemon St., Riverside, Calif. All 3 were Pressed by Monarch Records Manufacturing Company in California, with the 2nd pressing identical except for an added A&R Rue Barclay Credit on the label. The B-Side "Shooting Beavers" was Engineered by Frank Zappa. The 3rd copy however had a different B-Side Instrumental titled "Lightnin' written by Gerry Sanders as "Shootin' Beavers" by then was deemed 'too obscene.'
