They were young, they were creativ, they were rebells, they were rid of Bavarian
small town life and they knew how to take instruments the right way.

Those were the conditions! So it was the only logical consequence for eight guys of
Pfarrkirchen/Bavaria to found a band in 1998. The BABOONZ were born. They started to play – driven by energie, inspired by punk – non-average SKA-songs. After the usual problems at the beginning the wheel started to turn soon: the perfect line-up
was founded and they made a name in the regional scene. The smallest drummer alive, a steady working rhythm-section, a compact horn-section and an untiring singer let become Baboonz-concerts to an unforgettable event. Until know they did more than 50 live-shows with e.g. Skarface, Moskovskaja, Scrapy, Mark Foggo, Benuts,…
In spring 2001 they decided to record a 6-song ep which was released by themselves in fall and called “congratulations”. As they weren’t very content with the result they entered the studio again in summer 2002 to record a full length album. Now the result was more than acceptable: ska-songs inviting to dance and sing and some short punkrock-smasher. The album “Take Warning” will be released by the munich punkrocklabel Aggressive Noise (distribution: Mad Butcher Rec.) these days. It will be available from December 19th 2002.
Although THE BABOONZ like to party, they are definitly not a stupid wannabe-party-ska-band. They don’t pass their lives with blinders, they show up fights and they beat up fascist idiots. These aspects can be refound in their lyrics.
