The album gradually builds, working through tunes such as What Is Real? Where the rhythm of the guitar gives distinctive hints to a Mumford and Sons song. Two stand out songs Back Here and The Hollow, allow the album to retain its strength through spoken word, whilst still possessing a laid-back fragility – think a chilled-out Australian Jamie-T (with less political agenda).

The diversity of Sorry Business makes it applicable to any situation, from cramming for exams in the middle of the night, to a car trip down to the beach in the middle of summer. In saying that, I am clearly not the only person impressed with T.J. Quinton. After successfully supporting Ladyhawke in New Zealand last year, he’s about to embark on an east coast tour of Australia kicking off in Brisbane on the 25th of April.

The Music Initiative have described him as “easily one of Australia’s most promising solo artists” so if you’re after an evening of foot tapping beats check out your local gig guide and head down to see T.J. Quinton before the tickets are snatched up!
