This is a blazin' hot debut, one which I imagine went virtually unheard in its day. Perhaps they broke in their part of Canada; I'm not sure. Regardless, the songwriting and production are great, even if the lyrical content is a bit weak at points. Despite some characteristically questionable '80s flourishes, it's a top album. Sadly, the 1986 follow-up pales next to this, and this one's short, clocking in at only around 38 minutes. That's fine, it's of its day. Some bonus tracks would've been a welcome addition to the CD issues, however. Some song variations were released at the time on promo-only vinyl releases. It's also interesting that outside of Japan, those albums were never released on their own on CD; this bootleg here looks like what an RCA disc from the '80s would've looked like, down to the tiniest of details - except that there's no barcode present, and there's no known RCA CD ever for this title.
