Yalone
While Kreator, Destruction and Sodom keep the well deserved throne for the most emblematic German Thrash metal of all times, there are some bands that were as excellent as them, never as prolific though but nevertheless with particular albums that are notorious for the involved talent, force and synergy. That is the case with this particular album from Vendetta, "Go and live, stay and die". A damn fucking classic. If you ever listened this back into the day you'll agree that this is simply unforgetable, so much bloody energy and talent here, so much memorable passages, quality riffs, construction, change of rhythms, overall concatenation of rhythmic and lyrical composition, excellent lyrics and chorus lines, everything made it to make it memorable. An album that has no spots or fillers as every single track is a killer with a sound so compact and well worked that one just cannot help but tell that maybe this could be well the German counterpart of Exodus, Metallica & Megadeth synthesized in one made in their very own German terms with perfection and pulcritude been the master plans from the beginning to the end."Go and live, stay and die" resume the perfect synchrony between very lyrical guitar play with the strength from rhythmic guitar and solid bass guitar in a never ending cascade of changing rhythms with perfect tempos. Combining with expertise the talent of both guitarists that imprint velocity, strength and have time even time for some arpeggios and other classical flourishes. The drums play with very atypical tone (very compact sound, not blasting) that gives space for acompaniment without distracting from the center that is the guitar interplay but nevertheless leaving space as the perfect sidekick that imprints savage rhythms, some tribal effects and even play bell tricks as well as other intricacies during the whole record. In a word, talent in all sides. It is rather obvious that Vendetta was a band conformed by extremely good musicians, they played a very stylized Thrash Metal with an almost classical construction and some progressive cadence, with a couple more albums following this quality they would certainly have had achieved the Throne along with the rest of the monsters as it was the lack of prolificness and not talent what made them stay away. Nevetheless this band deserves the throne as one of the best albums ever in the history of classic thrash metal, not an apex to envy from the most renown bands in the whole world.Cheers!
