Beautiful View is another one of the Single and EP release for the Pup Tent album, and was not one of Dean Wareham’s favorite releases ... there was pressure to repeat magic, and of course there were band issues, and aspect of Dean’s musical career that has been a source of much contention for him.Beautiful View contains three tracks, all of which would eventually show up on other releases. “Beautiful View” is a hypnotic song that just carries you along with it ... total rapture. “Bobby Peru” is listed as a Radio Edition, though for the life of me, I’ve played them back to back, and side to side, and I can’t hear a difference, even the tracking time is the same. “California [All The Way]” is a sensational number that showed up on the Bewitched album, though here is presented live ... giving fans who’ve had a tough time seeing the band in concert, a chance to hear what they’ve been missing. Again, this is an Import, so finding it may be an issue, though with the release of Luna Live, all of these songs can be found elsewhere.But, I’m a fan, and this little cardboard sleeve is sheer joy.
