This recording comes from an FM radio broadcast of Cale's New Year's Eve performance in 1975, at Cain's Ballroom in the town in which he was raised, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Featuring a majestic set of J.J. Cale favorites taken from the albums he had released by this juncture in his career, along with a couple of cuts which at the time had yet to grace a J.J. studio record, all performed in an extended format, radically different from the album versions. This recording illustrates perfectly where J.J. Cale was musically by the end of 1975 and shows the direction in which he was moving for the next phase of his marvelous career.
