I have two copies of this reissue, one numbered 000647, which sounds and looks great, though the vinyl does have a few black spots. The other copy, numbered 000878, appears to have numerous pressing defects on side one, including considerably more black spots, as well large streaks that resemble scratches but obviously (due to the appearance of small bubbles) occurred during pressing. Side one of this copy has almost constant surface noise. Side two sounds considerably better, though nowhere near as good as the copy from earlier in the series. I haven't heard anything about pressing defects from other collectors but as this reissue is currently in demand (I had quite a time getting one copy, let alone two,) it's something to be aware of. As mentioned above, the artwork on this reissue is, like so many these days, disappointingly low in resolution. As the additional text is very sharp and clean, I would agree that the sleeve was likely reproduced from a scan of the original release. Given advances in printing techniques over the past two decades, I find this appalling, especially given the list price of the reissue. If anything, a reissue should look better than the original. I am hoping the upcoming Little Earthquakes reissue will take more care in reproducing the original artwork, if not exceeding it.

How did you get the replacement copy? I contacted Music on Vinyl about getting it replaced with the black vinyl but they told me to 'contact my dealer' who hasn't gotten back to me.

What method would you recommend? I sold the good sounding copy I have and bought the original German pressing on black vinyl but I really want to unload this flawed copy. It's become quite the thorn in my side.

I have the same issue with black spots. Constant surface noise on both sides. Unlistenable copy. Got a replacement copy but it was the black version, but it sounds perfect. Very disappointed with the quality control on the coloured version. Make sure you can listen before purchasing the pink vinyl
JUST DO IT
A good cleaning could take away those spots and surface noise
