THE BLACK WAVES are a band from Lille, France. Their music can be best described as a fascinating mix of SPACEMEN 3, early VELVET UNDERGROUND , the shoegazing bands like MY BLOODY VALENTINE and the dreampop bands like TAME IMPALA. There is an overall massive use of reverb which gives the songs depth and space. The addition of organ- and dronesounds (e.g. by using an electronic tambura) enhance this effect beautifully.
The songs were recorded from 2008 till 2013 and still they create a coherent vibe on the album wether the songs are enriched by sitarplay or driven into outerspace by the excellent reverbsoaked guitarplay.
Following a spacey introduction 13 songs create a dreamy hour of finest lysergic psychedelic music.
