Quote from Georgie Fame - "I was asked to write a happy piece of music which would encourage young kids with their first cars to buy National Benzol petrol. They would give away our record to people who bought four gallons of petrol. It was a big promotion campaign and because we didn't mention the name of the company in the song, we were able to release it as a single".
