"Ruby Baby" is yet another of those wonderful Lieber-Stoller compositions. The arrangement here is perfect, and Dion makes the song his own with his bluesy vocal. "Donna the Prima Donna" is less interesting, with predictable pop chord changes for its time, but I do like the way Dion sings 'Za Za Gabor'. It's actually a slowed-down retread of 'Runaround Sue'. Dion's 'Ruby Baby', like Gene Vincent's 'Be Bop A Lu La', are definitive originals. Any attempt to recreate these masterpieces is an exercise in futility.
