Forey
Of course it's all a matter of taste. I love Van Morrison's voice and many tracks that he did with Them. And 'Gloria' is a garage rock classic that was composed by Van Morrison. But I like the Shadows of Knight version better. Jim Sohn's vocal epitomizes the horny teenager in love. Although Sohn's vocal is lascivious, it is never over the top, like, say, Jim Morrison's embarrassing, drunken rendition of this same song. Maybe it's just because us listeners stateside heard this version on our transistor radios back in the day. There's not a thing wrong with Them's version. I just happen to like this one better.
