This is a good pressing. As this album was produced in a shitty way it will sound like crap no matter what medium you are playing it on. This pressing is probably the better of two evils I would say. I think that this pressing has a bit more punch, a bit less distortion than the digital version. I recommend this over any coloured or non-black pressing as they sound arguably worse.
Hanelynai
Sadly it's an Awful pressing, the highs are terribly distorted
Milleynti
Do you find this release to be a little filthier than the digital version? Havent heard other vinyl versions, but this one seems to lean on the lo fi side a little bit more than expected. I dont find it bad or anything, just different.
Iseared
I feel it too... i don't know why maybe there is a way to fix it?
Fenius
This is the only vinyl version pressed at Optimal Media German plant. All other versions was pressed by Pirates Press and GZ Media based on Czech Republic...

My favorite newer band, I frequently play this album .Its just so catchy !
Dorilune
All the trippy coloured versions of this album available and we in Europe get stuck with the plain black.

tell me about it. I can order records from the US and with extortionate shipping they still come out cheaper than Europe. Buying multiple vinyls - forget about it, the US is the only way if you can avoid extortionate customs charges. My sole salvation in France is FNAC who manage to get very cheap prices for new releases (although very few exclusivities)

Maybe its a time/manufacturing/cost thing especially with record store day just having happened. If they are having to charge £17-20 for a standard black press just imagine what it would of been on crazy vinyl. European records are a good chunk more expensive than US and seem a bit more than Aus. Still its got the nice gatefold and printed inner. That bumps the price a fair chunk.

Oh yeah, of course. I would have bought the black anyway. I just don't like regional exclusivities regarding colour pressings. Yes, I can import one, but after shipping and sometimes customs costs, I'm paying a huge amount for something a local could get for a fraction of the price. I know KG&TWL aren't a big band but it would be nice to put out some exclusivity for us on the other side of the world other than black. And regarding my friends that DJ, they're mostly UK house/techno/dub DJs - those genres never go for coloured vinyl for 2 reasons: (1) they know that quality is compromised; (2) people who collect those records are not interested in gimmicks.

But I think you answered your own question to a point ie your mates only buy black. Imagine there was no black pressing, your mates would be passing it. I'm sure represses will come anyway and you can always import a coloured one. Me being the geek I am have a red, emu egg and US one on the way as well as this one.

You're spot on - black vinyls are always the best for listening purposes. It defies logic - we all know that black is the best to listen to but colourful, gimmicky records will always sway me. I don't know if it's the sight of them spinning away and the colours merging to the sound or whether I believe I have something of a rarity on my hands or even if it's just my infantile preference for anything but black, but I love them. And a final reason - it's always nice to show a friend who doesn't buy vinyl, the beauty of big slab of 12" wax that is not the boring black disc they were expecting and for them to hear it playing and seeing their eyes light up.I have a few friends who DJ and they only buy black, but not many discs you DJ with are ever pressed in any other way. For the casual listener a nice, patterned disc is beautiful and heightens the experience. Especially with something as trippy as KG&TLW.

I think thats the idea, to appeal to the audiophiles. Ive not heard them all yet but i'd bet my Aussie copy thats in the post doesn't sound as good as this one. Coloured vinyl as a rule sounds inferior. Will always be a degree of noise and in my opinion the top end is never as crisp. When I was a dj 20 years or so ago I used to actively hunt out the black vinyl promos for this very reason if I knew it was on colour or worse still a picture disc.Coloured vinyl looks cool and will always appeal to collectors + its often more limited but its a bit of a gimmick, if you want sound quality then you won't get near to a nice chunk of black vinyl.
Kegal
Is this version a gatefold jacket too? And does it come with the poster?
Halloween
Its actually really nice. Ive not compared them yet and this is the only pressing ive heard. For my money this is going to be the best sounding pressing of the lot so if you are buying to play rather than post photos on facebook or flip on here for 5x what you paid i'd buy this one. Heavenly have been at this a long time. PS 16.99 free shipping on HMV
Samulkis
It is gatefold jacket , but there is no Poster. Comes with printed inner sleeve.
