From cover's note: "The title of this album takes on a special meaning when you learn that Wally Badarou once skipped meals to practise piano... he had to, he was too lazy to cross town to take lessons. Back to scales tonight, indeed.
He's crossed many towns, even oceans, since then, and his keyboard contributions to the records of artists as diverse as Grace Jones, The Gibson Brothers, and Robin "M" Scott have kept him too busy to release his own solo album before now. It was not until 1979 that he entered the record business under is own name, although his first sessions date back to 1975. In the interval, his recording was exclusively on someone else's behalf. This time though, it's all his own.
Any reasonable liner note would have ended here, but no introduction to Wally would be complete without some suitably funky conclusion.
