Best known as a popular balladeer-crooner, Quebec chansonier Serge Laprade's creative peak definitely arrived with this jewel of an album….yet by far, this was his poorest seller, his most obscure and it definitely remains his most elusive LP today. Much more ‘out-there’ than anything he'd done previously or since, Laprade very briefly jumped onto the trendy Quebec progressive pop-psych bandwagon of the early 70’s, along with similar projects released by contemporary pop-crooners Donald Lautrec (“Fluffy”), Pierre Lalonde (“Inouik”), Joel Denis (his rare self-titled obscurity on the Profil label), and of course the 2 much better-known gems from Jean-Pierre Ferland (“Jaune” and “Soleil”)…….all of which were released within a span of 2 years.Although little-known, long out-of-print and now quite rare, Laprade’s self-titled LP (his only album released on London Records) is filled with numerous out-of-character highlights. This is the album that features the trippy soft-psych " Le Temps D'Ailleurs" (English translation: “A Time From Somewhere Else”).* All the songs were composed by then CHOM-FM disc-jockey Gerard Lambert, who later moved on to a career with Radio Canada.
