Notes

Roadshow Music a divison of Roadshow Entertainment

This promotional interview CD was recorded in 1996 (possibly in December) and consists of Darren and Daniel discussing each track from the Australian version of their debut album, and answering other questions relating to the music and the people behind it. There is no music on this CD. The interview was probably conducted by Leonie Messer, a PR agent working for Roadshow. The CD appears to be designed to allow a radio announcer to ask the prompts, and use the CD for the answers, as though the local DJ was conducting the actual interview.

It is unknown if this CD was issued to radio stations, but copies were given away by "Savage Garden Fanzine" based in Brisbane. The title of the disc as printed on the disc itself is "Open-Ended Interview". Most copies were issued in a plain slimline CD case with no cover, but copies given away by the fanzine had a custom cover, designed and printed by the fanzines's staff. The title is listed as "Interview Disc" on the fanzine cover. The individual track titles listed come from the fanzine insert and are the questions or prompts for Darren and Daniel to follow in the interview. Copies not given away by the fanzine, since they do not contain the cover insert, instead come with printed letter size paper documents listing the individual track titles.

Some copies of this disc were mispressed and actually contain the tracks for the "Dance Remixes" promo CD. Most copies of the mispressing were destroyed, but some made their way into the hands of collectors. These mispressed CDs can be identified by examining the inner hub. The catalog number will appear as "SMA 31470", the catalog number of the "Dance Remixes" CD.
