crazy mashine
I don't want to speak ill of the dead, and I have no doubts that Robin Williams was a comic genius. I love Mork from Ork and many of his movies. But...this album isn't funny.Recorded at the Copacabana Nightclub in New York (Side A) and at the Boarding House in San Francisco (Side B) this live album features two 20-minute acts of Robin Williams firing, very fast, through his material and I just cannot keep up with it. Perhaps it would have been entertaining if I were there, watching it, instead of listening but, either way, this album (which has never been re-released) is a clunker. I think that Williams was on some "inspiration medication" when he did these acts, and perhaps coherence is lost. There's no narrative here, no storytelling, no core or soul, just Williams rapidly tearing through his "material" in a variety of stupid voices and lots of annoying sound effects. It's nothing. And it's going on eBay.
