"On 30th March, Pulitzer Prize winning composer, trumpeter and band leader Wynton Marsalis will release his 5th Blue Note recording "He and She". Inspired by Max Roach's "Jazz in 3/4 Time" and Duke Ellington's "Lady Mac", Wynton looked at the waltz tempo in a jazz context. The narrative of the album is in the relationship between a man and a woman, a bitter sweet love story on the mood shifts of love and life as time passes by. Wynton narrates almost every track, a technique we saw on his last studio album "From The Plantation to the Penitentiary". As with many of his albums, this was test driven live at the Iron House in New Hampshire, VT, and then recorded live over a 2 day stint with minimal editing."
