Collection of Ennio Morricone cues taken from eight original soundtracks in the "Beat Records" catalogue. Liner notes by Alan Bishop:

Ennio Morricone, the venerable one, the master of mosaic - his eclectic powers exploding through cinematic consciousness as technicolor shrapnel for nearly forty years. By alchemically combining the exotic and the experimental, Ennio Morricone's magical mutations have spear-ended the movement to define the role of film music in the modern age.

This collection is a view from the top of the food chain; 16 boxcars of luminosity from an archival train that could span this earth. Culled from 8 original soundtracks in the 'Beat Records' catalogue, some of these cuts are impossible to define. What kind if music is "Une Corsa Disperata"....high drama orchestral psychedelia? How about "Veni Sancte Spritus"....an acid rock opera in Vatican City? And how could the sweet-syrup majesty of the theme to "il Grande Silenzio" possibly accompany a murderous Klaus Kinski on the screen during Sergio Corbucci's epic spaghetti western, the only one filmed in three feet of snow?
