Recording made at Wally Heider studios in San Francisco. Pianist John Richard Miller plays Hohner electric keyboard which uses oscillators for a soft sound - with left hand and a Farfisa organ with the right hand. Drummer Tom Ralston plays a 1930's set of antique drums with a four feet diameter kick drum. Ralstonn also does a bit of background humming on Resurgence. The melody follows the same pattern as the bass pattern - 5,7flat,1,3flat,1,5,7flat,1(octave lower), beginning on beat two after the bass initial tonic. Ivey's conga beat during the melody, vibraphone and piano solos accents the kinto on the four beat. After the piano solo Ivey accents the kinto on the two beat.Listeners, it is hoped, will enjoy the creative drumming by Tom Ralston who played with the 60's rock bands 'Sea Train' and 'Cleanliness and Godliness Skiffle Band'. Like Richard 'Riingo Star' Starkey, Ralson pl'ays the tune with unique snare and rim patterns for each section of the tune giving the small five piece group a coherent but unique ensemble sound. It is hoped the tune is enjoyed by all who hear it.Tamura's Theme is named after the lead actress in the 'Resurgnce' play which is about the rehabilitation of a young adult from chemical abuse to become a strong advocate of civil rights and academic education of our world's youth.
