Renthadral
Cambio Negro debuted in rap scene, on 1990 in one of the biggest ghettos of Brazil: Ceilandia. Located near Brasilia, the capital, and among police brutality, drug traffic and many murders a day, the group started to tell people those problems. Formed by "X" and DJ Jamaika, and latter, added new members, they signed to local Discovery Records, to release "Sub Raça" on July, 1993. Sold more than 20,000 copies and gained good reputation over Portugal, Spain and Japan. They were the first Brasilia's Rap group to achieve national recognition, following the steps of Sao Paulo's Racionais Mcs. Their second album "Diario de Um Feto" joined new members and new ways to make rap music, such as a bassist, guitarist and drummer. They turned into a band, what brought new fans and disappointed the old ones. But, despite the absence of DJ Jamaika, the group kept the main line, taken in the early 90's: being against Racism, bad governments, violence and all kinds of struggle.
