Wow, I'm surprised how rare and sought-after this Castle reissue has become so quickly. I was working in a record shop in 2007 when the reissue came out and we had lots of copies of the CD and the vinyl. I only bought the CD, I don't know why, as I'm a vinyl man at heart.Now the vinyl goes for close to £300 and the CD for £100. Castle should think about re-pressing this one as it's a guaranteed sell-out surely?Amazingly rough-edged album of super-deep soul with a gutbucket vocal summoned from the depths of a man's suffering.There's not really a bad track on it - even the version of California Dreaming is stellar. My favourite tracks are the different versions of Bad Girl. It's such a good song - plus it has Lee's raw and impassioned vocal that elevates into the realm of true ART.I have edited parts 1 & 2 of Bad Girl into one really fly five-minute opus that still keeps me coming back for more. 2' 20" was way too short.The Maple original goes for around £300 - £400 - if you can find one.... but that had only nine tracks on it. The Castle reissue gives you 23 and they are all 100% deep, deep soul - the deepest and grittiest you will ever hear.

It's disappointing that the 2016 reissue from Light in the Attic/Future Days doesn't include the bonus tracks found on the Castle version. What were they thinking?
