I recently purchased this record. Never heard of the Uk Players before and after listening to this record i wonder why. This is very funky music with a jazzy ring to it. "Everybody get up" sounds a bit "Average White Band". Unfortunately the vocals on this song are too sharp and flat. The musicians are great. Very very good bassplayer. Great synthesizer and good hornsection. All & all the A-side didn't do it for me. But after flipping the record over to the B-side there it was. The song "Rivers". No vocals. All the good musicians are there and now with a more pronounced guitar flowing together. Even better baselines & horns. I rate this record 5/5. "Everybody get up" sounds to me more like a (3/5). (7/5) for the great "Rivers"!!!
