The track 'Sorrow Tears And Blood' has been restored to its original running time of 16:41 to include two missing segments that were edited out of the UK and European release 'Black President'. The first segment, which is over 6 minutes long, features a trumpet solo missing from the edited version. It comes in the section before Fela's vocal begins. The second instrumental and vocal segment of just over a minute appears just before the vocal finale.
Technical notes from the restoration engineer:
The editing and restoration was achieved by using very high quality vinyl originals from the UK and Nigeria, where the missing sections came from the Nigerian pressing. Several steps were necessary to match the amplitude, phase, azimuth and tonal qualities of the two pressings. This was necessary because the original master tapes were lost many years ago.
