The B-side Margie Evans (sounding a bit like Candi Staton, a bit like Jocelyn Brown) track out of Little Rock on ICA is a medium tempo jam session-like funk soul killer with trombone (unique) and tenor sax breaks. This single belongs in any serious soul or dance collection and is a favourite of this commentator. Can occasionally be found on Discogs, and due to its lack of notoriety, at a reasonable price. Suggestion is to grab a copy when available. The A-side by Allean Varnado is an uptempo bluesy number that while listenable stands significantly in the shadow of the B-side.

Thanks for the recommendation. Came across a copy this month and snapped it up based on the great sound and your commentary! Awesome new rarity for the collection!
