For a Wild Night who can best deliver the goods than One Way. On the heels of their immensely succesfull album Who's Foolin' Who, One Way comes right back with a Killer LP. Wild Night goes beyond all the group's previous releases not only because when it's funky, it's funkee, when it's romantic, it is making love, but also because it has tremendous lyrical depth. It explores new ground just as One Way has reached a new plateau. They have added stronger lyrics this time and wanted to say something with a deeper meaning on most songs. Al Hudson, one of the group's lead vocalists, explains. "Some of our songs sell on the music alone. But the lyrics really communicate this time; we talk to the people about what they want to hear, what makes them move and the music moves us."

Excellent review MaximusMCX, and a thoughtful quote by Al. One Way indeed often delivers on their albums a mix from tempo to mellow. This album starts with the solid title-cut and towards the end of the album they enter with a trunk of funkslices like "Can I" and "One Of Us". "Can I" contains an intense synth-solo by composer/keyboardist Kevin McCord and he's throwing some ladies-flirt in the mix ( "...Can i ask your name... uh, my name is Kevin baby, ... tell me, can we hang ?..." ) lol! For those who are hip to that particular track, then the extended mix is an extra treat : One Way / Alicia Myers - Can I / Is It Really Real
