the completion of this recording has been the earnest desire of the Sikhs of Toronto, Ontario, that they might celebrate and commemorate the 500th birthday of Third Guru Amardas ji who, as you are aware, introduced the community kitchen where people of all castes and creeds - both high and low - could sit and eat freely together at the same platform. This innovation brought significant witness to the idea of the true equality of all people.

The Sikhs of Toronto requested the well-known "Ragi Jatha's" of S. Guardial Snigh [sic!] "Rasia" and the popular Sardar Ranjit Singh of Bombay to complete this recording. And it is hoped that the Sikh Community will give this unique album its heart-felt support.

It is our prayer, that as you hear this recording, you may experience the true joy and tranquility found in paying homage to our Gura who will, praise god, bring about our salvation from the vigorous circle of birth and death.
