Jack Lucking is a recording artist who is new to the listings, here at Discogs.According to (two) available online biographies, all songs on "Life" were written by the artist and performed and recorded at the age of 16. A single was later recorded at 18, and a CD in more recent years as a mature adult performer. He remains an amateur musician to this day. For what it is "Life" is an extremely impressive first effort for a young, solo artist. It is another work which is clearly influenced by the Jesus Movement of the era circa late 1960s and early to mid (and even late) 1970s and while there's both Gospel and Country influences --and while the songs on this debut release are mostly in the folk vein, it is tinged with a melancholy beyond that which is exhibited do deftly and eloquently, here.It's a shame that Jack didn't follow it with other full length releases in his early Twenties, but it will be interesting to track down his new CD to see how his work has progressed.
