NOTE: THIS VERY SAME RELEASE ALSO EXISTS WITH A (DIFFERENT) GATEFOLD SLEEVE, See "more images"."Harpe Andine" was recorded live in Lima by Gérard Kremer. The Andean harp has a much larger body than the Paraguayan harp and produces a very full and variegated sound. Florencio Coronado Gutiérrez was born on the 23rd of Februari 1918 in Ayacucho (the heart of Peru) and died in Lima on the 23rd of October 2009. In 1958 he was declared "premier folk-harpist-soloist of the world". He toured trough Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. A famous journalist once noticed : "Florencio Coronado isn't as much a harpist of Peru, he is an American performer, in his fingers quiver ten centuries of history". For devoted fans of personal, unaffected and spirited South American folk music: highly recommended!
