This music, which is closer to the maqam traditions of Central Asia than to the musical culture of India, is presented here for the first time in two long maqam suites. An unfortunately almost extinct tradition. Excellent. The musicians sing classical Kashmiri Sufi poems. The Saz-e Kashmiri is a big Kemencheh with sympathetic strings. The Setar, which is similar to the Afghan Setar, also has sympathetic strings. Dokra is a Tabla.
