The original words of the renowned Dublin song "Molly Malone" have never before been recorded. Discovered by chance in a ballad book from 1780, the original words pre-date the well known "cockles and mussels" version of the song by about 100 years. The earthy and passionate lyrics of the original song portray a different girl to the Molly we sing about today.
