Looney Tunes had a totally different vibe from Major Problems or Fallout, two other projects that Lenny Dee made part. Bones & Lenny were DJ partners, and studio buddies as well. They made some few records before the Looney Tunes, but somehow this record came about due to their DJing & sampling records practice from their massive collections. It took about a week of non stop working to complete "Just As Long As I Got You", since sampling was not that easy back then; the samplers they used only held few megabites. Most of the recordings were made on a eight-track tape machine, then the tracks were bounced down, mixed & edited - something that is really not done now a days, according to Lenny Dee. The vocals and the parts worked out seemlessly; many beats were from the two of them DJing over the top of other records, then they played out. "It was sort of like a record of our DJ mixing", says Lenny. In fact, they didn't think it would be a special record while doing it, or even after it was done. They did so many tracks like this EP before, but everything changed when it was released, since it became a hit in the U.K. Pop Charts via the English label XL Recordings. "I guess when we were doing the video set in, we thought - "Wow this is a hit!", confessed Lenny. Bones & Lenny Dee did love it, they could finally say that, after all their work and all their time in New York City with nobody carrying about their music, it finally paid off. In the UK particularly, everywhere. "I was a young twenty year old kid from deep ass brooklyn, so to even think that another country liked our music was a big shock. I had no idea that my other records were big in the UK or in Europe. It was only until I went to the UK to promote Loney tunes that I saw what we were doing in a new light", declared Lenny, enthousiastic about "Just As Long As I Got You"'s repercussion. "I was so happy not because of the money, but just 'cause what I did was something that other people liked! I had the desire & the will to keep on doing what I loved to do. That's what kept me going it", concluded Lenny. "But since that first trip to London in, 1989 I never looked back".
