One of Ray's finest tunes resides on this record, and that is the absolutely awesome "Slow Space". It's as perfect as club techno can get: a relentless beat, prickly percussion, and that immediately memorable synth arpeggio combine, rise, fall, and rise again to make one of the most satisfying pieces of music I've had the pleasure to hear.The rest of the EP isn't quite up to that, and for some reason Unbalanced is a drums-only track which seems a little out of place. Slow Rock relies on some simple stabs and a two-note synth pattern later on that don't really develop. But the crunchy basslines and melodic stabs in Balanced make for another great piece of fast, highly danceable melodic techno.Recommended for Slow Space which will be hard for him to top: it really is fantastic. But Bullet Train and Let Things Slide, while having no tracks that match Slow Space, are stronger EPs overall.
