The B side is really great, let me say that first. Sadly due to a manufacturing / pressing error or perhaps mastering issues on the A side/main track, there is horrible, rather unlistenable distortion that kicks in at a fairly mid frequency throughout. And it's not deliberate distortion either , although some may say it gives the music an additional sense of decay, pushing towards the merzbow end of the spectrum. It isnt a hifi set up issue as some may speculate, im using a denon DL 110 cart and no adjustments made to the stylus improves or removes any of the unwanted distortion . Very disappointing as I am a big fan of basinski's work. Are there any copies out there that actually play as the artist Intended as I would like to get hold of one?

Is anyone else's Vinyl copy of this crackly and distorted? The whole of the A-side of mine is practically unlistenable and its fresh out of the shrink wrap!?

I sold mine immediately. Unlistenable. The mastering was very shrill and the surface noise was beyond belief.

Just arrived, looks good in white, unfortunately the same problem, side B track Cascade is distorted and unlistenable!
