Notes

This is the first original music release from r/SixthWorldMusic, a Reddit-based music community active since 2015. The subreddit serves as a swap meet for enthusiasts of unusual music to share all the best left-field genre-defying tracks we can find.

All aspects of the creation of this album were a collaborative effort between the members of the subreddit; from the music itself to the album artwork to the title of the compilation. We hope we succeeded in creating something that reflects r/SixthWorldMusic's aesthetic for weird-and-wonderful music as true art.

We intend for this compilation to be just the first of many future SixthWorldMusic releases. We plan to do a new compilation each year, and we may put out smaller projects in-between -- perhaps a split EP or collaborative single, or EPs/LPs created by subreddit members.

Special Dedication

When many of us first joined r/sixthworldmusic, our intentions were simply to post our favorite weird music, and to enjoy all the other awesome, strange music posts contributed by the 6WM community. Little did we know that our good friend and benefactor, Gary, had much bigger plans in store for us.

Ever since the subreddit's inception, Gary has been systematically tracking down each of us in turn, sometimes for days, lurking in the shadows and patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity to carry out his mission; it might be while walking down a narrow, dark, and filthy back alley, or through a city park late on a moonless night, when he suddenly appears, and, without warning, nor heed to our cries for mercy, blesses us with his special love.

Although perhaps not at first, those of us that survive eventually are glad of it, and are forever indebted to Gary to have received from him a love so raw, so profound, and of such savage intensity that a subsequent lifetime of psychological, pharmaceutical, and surgical interventions can't even begin to address its impact.

In recognition of his relentless and unshakeable commitment to bestow his extreme love individually upon each member of our community, we dedicate this compilation of original sixth world music to Gary.

u/teduh (glooroo), the creator/moderator of the SixthWorldMusic subreddit, oversaw the initial planning and gathering of ideas for this compilation from 6WM users.

u/KerleyB (Deathset) designed this Bandcamp page and was in charge of the collection and mastering of the music and artwork submissions.
