Notes

Welcome to the 1998 edition of the dance years, i hope you enjoy this snapshot of what turned out to be a fantastic year for clubbing. Dance Anthems and my drivetime show on Radio 1 were going from strength to strength and clubs across the UK were packed out.

My personal highlight was starting a weekly residency in Ibiza at Eden. UK promoters like Cream and Clockwork Orange were running weekly events on the island with a different line up of DJs each week, but there hadn't been a main UK DJ holding down a weekly event. Dan Prince came up with the idea and approached me, the slot available was a saturday and quite a few people on the island thought it might not work. Luckily our opening party was rammed and i enjoyed ten years of weekly events in Ibiza. Those early days were undoubtedly the best with Ray Davis as my warm up and an endless supply of great tracks.

If you enjoyed this album look out for the whole collection starting in 1988.

Enjoy

Dave Pearce
