To beat his first album (Manic Panic) was a difficult effort, but Attack Delay delivers with pleasure.We begin with the dirt that is Now Destrucutor. Filth. He spits lyrics with, well, hatred. Get used to it. Oliver knows how to alienate his audience, but if by now you don't know his style you truly are set adrift.Track two. "The World Will Know Us". What a bassline! "There is no love. Revel in the glory. Sick, sick shame." Hell, with lyrics like that you know you're in for a ride.Oliver turns to Deutschland on track three for "Es Ist Alles Aus", a mid-tempo bleep-techno meets new beat melange of melting proportions. Please, do not get confused; The Horrorist does not give a fuck about what is "cool".Track four is Automatic, which is very much what you would get if Green Velvet suddenly got very violent. Yeah, this is techno with percussion courtesy of assault rifles. Damn it rocks, big style! My only gripe is that it's too short. I'd love to have heard a longer mix of this track, it really deserves it.With "You Are Disturbing" we at last get back to The Horrorist's classic style, that is of lyrical poetry over shit-dirty electro. It does not disappoint. It sounds 8-bit, but it does not sound trendy. "What are the things you like to do sexually? Recognise and vomit your words. You are disturbing." Yeah, not quite pop music eh...Pain and Pleasure sounds like Mylo having a whitey. Which isn't all that good, to be honest. It's not terrible but in the context of what preceded it (and what is to follow) it's gonna be lost.It's okay, 'cos 13 Dobermans is next. Hey, imagine if Tiga was an s&m fetishist... yeah, Tiga dressed in leather. Shit be here. Tiga wants this as his own. Okay, maybe...Shopping List. Hmm, reminds me of very early Soft Cell. Not that Oliver would know about early Soft Cell. Hey Oliver, just sayin'...It's all good. Room of Posers is cutting. Like a knife through flesh! Breaks hit over a spooky vocal sample until Oliver hits in proper. Bassline hits. OF FILTH. This is one dirty fucking track. Lyrically you have to experience it for yourself. Okay I can't resist, I'll give you an example: "They're dancing and having a good time, they're all just full of shit..." Listen to the full track and wonder how he didn't get bottled off stage when performing this live.Body To Body harks back to Nitzer Ebb, Front 242 and 80's EBM in general. Chunky basslines over chanted vocals make for a very aggressive vibe, especially with some early 90's rave flavoured filters. Oh yeah, it rocks! :DOkay, then you receive "Wire To The Ear". You fall in love with this dirt after approximately 3 seconds.Sex Machine is next. Jesus Christ, is this album ever going to go bad? NO! He is the sex machine, and he will have all of you! Dirty Electro over Oliver's filthy lyrics ensure aural pleasure: "I've got all the drugs you want, everything you've ever heard of. Don't close your eyes sweet baby, I'm gonna make us feel sick". Or, to put it more directly, "The more you scream and yell, the more it turns me on".Close To You is a radical departure from the aggression (musically) we've been subjected to so far. At first you honestly think to yourself, What The Fuck? It sounds like some soft 80's ballad! Then Oliver starts singing. Words that do not sit comfortably on the mind. Not at ALL. Lock your front door, your back door and all your windows.Skipping to the end indiscriminately, you get "Ich Habe die Macht".Pure gabber-on-the-verge-of-speedcore HARDCORE.Hell man, if this doesn't seal the deal then you're on the wrong page.It ends much like this review.
