A Madonna classic ruined forever.

I think this is one of the best tracks of "Bedtime Stories" although it was not very well received. The original version is haunting: it's a slice of deep, dark, downtempo House with apocalyptic lyrics. I remember the video for this track was also very nice. It's a different thing when track #2 hits the speakers. Junior Vasquez is offering us of his worst remix ever. That captivating dark flavour is gone, replaced by a bad Eurohouse line. The vocals sounds definitely out of place. The "Dreamy Drum Dub" uses the same elements with less vox. Orbital are using approximately the same melodic line, but their mix is better, keeping some of the deep feel of the original. Finally, the Sound Factory mix brings us back Junior Vasquez in a much better rendition of the song (fortunately). If I clearly remember, this single marks the last collaboration between Madonna and Vasquez. The rest is fascinating club history: "If Madonna Calls" and Danny Tenaglia remixing "Human Nature". Do I need to say more?

The collaboration between Madonna and Vasquez ended because his remixes practically killed the title track of her album in the clubs. It wasn't too hard to hear, "what is this shit?" out on the club floor.
