This is not a bad release in the post-ITWT11 series. Very characteristic end-of-decade progressive house tinged trance. Mixed by Daniel Wanrooy and the tunes very much reflect his chunky-minimalist style, but he begins proceedings with some very summery tunes. What You Want is a nice cut, and JPL always brings warmth to any compilation. The mix moves along nicely with some chunky prog/proglifting trance with highlights including Leon Bolier and Topher Jones cuts. It gets a little electro-trancey in the middle Heatcliff and Reconceal, before turning up the tech with Daniel Wanrooy & Rene Havelaar classy Bittersweet. The mix ends on a light techy note with some prog-tech of Whelan & Di Scala, Wanrooy and Schiemann. So how does this compare to others of the series. Since the first 11 were all phenomenal that isn't really very fair. But it holds its own amongst the next 6 easily, offering a more laid back and techy edge than its two predecessors. Along with ITWT 15 this is probably the most 'summery' iteration. If you are looking for some light hearted progressive-house infused trance then you could do worse than this mix, or even if you are just looking for something a little different reflective of late-00s ITWT.Top tracks:Daniel Wanrooy Feat.
