was this actually available on cassette? ^^
AGAD
The actual tape also had the 12" mixes of Rat Rapping and Love Me Tender without the vocals.

Yes it was. The cassette version was called The Album and had different linking spiels - the joke was they'd got it mixed up thanks to Little Reggie.
Butius
YepHave it on tape tooWill try to update listing :)

Yes it was. The cassette recording claimed to be the LP recording, and vice versa; spoken word sketches at the starts and ends of the sides on both releases revealed this to have been the result of a mix-up which could not be rectified "for financial reasons".
Jek
Yes I had the cassette version. The intro was obviously different as they discuss that it is the cassette version.
Uris
It was indeed. I had or maybe still have it. Great set of songs.

Here's what Wikipedia says on the matter: "Between 1983 and 1985, Roland had three UK chart hit singles including "Rat Rapping" and an album The Cassette Of The Album. A cassette version of the recording, entitled The Album was released concurrently. The cassette recording claimed to be the LP recording, and vice versa; spoken word sketches at the starts and ends of the sides on both releases revealed this to have been the result of a mix-up which could not be rectified for financial reasons."
Golden freddi
And at least two of the tracks were extended versions.

Yup, I got it for my birthday along with my first Walkman, it was just called "The Album".
