"Discovery" ----> Deep Dark Ambient Dub. 5/5

Breathtakingly melancholic and beautiful ambient space-pop of sorts, a little bit like Komputer meets The X-Files played in a snowy wasteland after nightfall. I bought this one on instinct after seeing the depressing little alien playing his flute on the cover. The song titles hint at the date of the mystic explosions where an unidentified object created massive destruction in its path after breaking up over Tunguska, felling trees several hundreds of meters away and causing forest fires that burned for weeks and incinerated an area of some 1000 square kilometers. The songs capture this series of events through the eyes of the poor cosmic entity that was (at least according to Tungüska) the cause of this chain of events, from the flight to the crash and the ensuing blazes of fire and the human attempt to gain knowledge and finding the cause of the crash. Get this ambient pearl if you don't mind your ambient music being spiced up with melody and sprinkled with a few vocal samples!
