Fog

For many of us that grew up with the atmospheric work of Michael Cretu and his collaborators, the only way to fully experience Enigma is via the journey that the album format takes. A continuously mixed montage wafting from track to track without break from start to end. Which is why I find it hard to believe Enigma - The Platinum Collection is simply a compilation of tracks. There are no crossfades or unique soundscapes to sample here. It's merely a collection of single versions / radio edits on disc 1 and remixes / extended versions on disc 2. The only saving grace for this "compilation" is a very brief peek into Curly MC's demo vault on disc 3. If you want all the short versions from Enigma's single releases, CD 1 is where you'll find them. However if you are after a true Enigma experience (especially through headphones) but only want the hits may I direct your attention to Enigma - Love Sensuality Devotion (The Greatest Hits), it's a few years old now but is yet to be bettered.Now..."Turn Of The Light..Take A Deep Breath...And Relax..."
