This community compilation features 30 artists from across the spectrum of contemporary independent electronic music and showcases styles sometimes described with terms like biolectronic folkadelic glo-fi psychambient vaporwave electrohaze, etc. Submissions were taken in the first half of 2011 and the project was funded through a Kickstarter campaign in which each cassette purchase was matched with the production of an additional copy for one of the contributing artists. The goal was to supply an eclectic and bolstered lineup of new music to listeners while simultaneously providing the performers with physical merch to get their music in the hands of fans at no cost to them. Thanks to everyone who made this mixtape a reality and subsequently helped create DZ TAPES.
